Why is Self-motivation So Important?

The basis of all self-motivation is self-belief. If you do not have a belief system that validates you, then everything you undertake will be meaningless. Not having this motivation is like having a plane without the engines – you are going no where!

If you don’t feel like your self-esteem is way up there, don’t worry, the following points will help you adopt habits and attitudes that will keep you motivated till you actually reach your desired objective:

1.                  Have a clear and precise goal. In other words, know exactly what you want. Do you want a higher paying job to increase your Internet marketing budget? Do you prefer to earn enough money to be able to work from home, or do you want ultimate freedom where all your work is outsourced, and all you do is collect the fat checks? Maybe you want all three of these examples. If that’s you then that is Ok. Just remember that you need to pursue one objective at a time, and the completion of one objective will always cause the pursuit of another.

2.                  Consider yourself worthy of success. Do you feel that you deserve to live out your goals? Some people don’t feel that they deserve success. As strange as that may sound, it is true. They prefer to remain where they are like “everybody else”. How then can you be motivated to reach beyond your present situation if you are comfortable right where you are?

3.                  Have a clear reason why you are pursuing your goal(s). Many people wake up every morning and go to about their jobs without really thinking much about anything else except having a sufficient pay check to pay the bills and go on holidays. It is therefore important that you have a big “why”. The bigger your “why” the more motivated you will be to press on.

4.                  Avoid the “instant microwave” mentality. You understand the notion of sowing and reaping. Many people continue to be gullible and easily lured into money making scams because of this way of thinking.

You read a sales letter or a report that promises to have you making $25k/month at the end of 30 days. You read the “testimonies”, and you tell yourself…” If they can make it, I don’t see why I can’t”. So you whip out your credit card and you sign up for the program. You later on find out that you have to buy a series of other tools to make the program work. At the end of the 30 days, you are still not making your $25k/month. In fact, you are down a couple hundred bucks (if not more).
So, what’s wrong with this picture? Well, the problem here is not with the program – no matter what program it is. The real problem lies with the way it was marketed and your mental approach.

5.                  Become self-disciplined. You value and understand hard work. You are not scared to put in the time that is needed to build your business till you see the fruits of your hard labour. Things WILL get rough, but what will keep you going is not the beauty of the program or the incredible potential….no, none of that will suffice. The work habits you develop now will become the pillars that sustain you when everything around you will appear to be crumbling down.

There is no program that you will find online that will teach you how to make money without effort. Every money making opportunity involves some kind of buying or selling of a product or service. So, before you jump into the next opportunity, make sure your habits and your mentality are right; self-motivation will then become the least of your worries.
