Network Marketing – Will it really work for you?




So, you are an “average Joe” and you are simply trying to find a way to make some extra money online through networking marketing. If that’s you, then pay close attention.

Whether we are in a flourishing or declining economy, people will continue to make money online. There are literally hundreds of different methods you can use. With your basic cable internet connection, you can make untold amounts of money right from your home computer. Having wireless access is the equivalent of having the “corner office”. You can sit on your porch, in a hotel, in a restaurant or anywhere else for that matter. All that matters is that you have a seamless connection to the Internet.

The traditional method of marketing used to be the norm, but over the last 2 decades, companies of all sizes have adopted a new and innovative marketing approach to explode their profit margins. The efficiency of this marketing method lies in the fact that you and I can now take an active part in promoting and benefiting from the company’s profit. Companies are falling over heels for this method because it doesn’t cost them a dime! They pay their partners (you and I) ONLY when we have made them profit. This, my friend is the ORIGINAL definition of Network marketing. This is not to be mixed up with multi-level marketing, a “close relative” which is a business model, and not an advertising method.

Today, companies like PayPal, Hostgator, and many more use network marketing to the best of their advantage. If you look carefully on most websites, you will find an option for “partners” or “referral program”. Every company or organization with a web presence has understood the importance of incorporating these strategies. They have understood that allowing their customers to partner with them in their marketing efforts would give them access to circles they would have never dreamt of penetrating.

The success of Face book, twitter and MySpace is living proof that any form of “social mass” is a force to be reckoned with.

Like all things in life, there is a flip side to this coin. If you choose to use Network Marketing to advertise your service or product, it will:

  1. Lure you into thinking that making money online is easy. Believe me, you will have to work!
  2. Lead you to believe that you will see results quickly. If you are strapped for cash, and you need money fast, then move on, and explore another money making method.
  3. Turn you into a “greasy salesman” to your family and friends. When you recommend a restaurant or a movie, you normally do it once. Maybe twice, if you are asked. If you had to recommend this restaurant every time you met your relatives or friends, imagine what they would start thinking about you, and the restaurant for that matter!

Network Marketing is not multi-level marketing. The first is a marketing strategy, while the second is a business model. Both rely on your social circles – a little like affiliate marketing. So, before you make any major decision on what strategy to implement for your business, take the time to choose an effective strategy and stick with it.
